Used Labelling Machines
Labelling machines apply product and brand labels to bottles, cans and other containers. The correct used labeller depends on container material and shape, label material, adhesive technology, label positions, orientation requirements and production speed.
Self-Adhesive, Cold Glue, Hot Glue and Roll-Fed
Self-adhesive or pressure-sensitive labellers are flexible and widely used for glass and PET containers. Cold-glue machines are common for paper labels on glass bottles. Hot-glue systems can apply pre-cut or reel-fed labels at high speed. Roll-fed labellers are widely used for wrap-around labels, particularly on PET. Sleeve labellers apply shrink sleeves or tamper-evident bands and are treated as a specialised labelling technology.
Rotary and Linear Configurations
Linear labellers are often used for lower to medium outputs and flexible formats. Rotary machines use a carousel and multiple stations for higher throughput or complex front, back, neck and wrap-around applications. Some machines combine several labelling technologies in one platform.
What to Verify
Check container formats, label dimensions, application positions, number and type of stations, bottle orientation system, glue or adhesive system, coding equipment, inspection and rejection devices, included change parts, PLC and recipe backups and the actual speed achieved with the relevant format.
